Luis Fernandez

Luis studied his degree in Physiotherapy from The University of Antofagasta, Chile and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from Andres Bello University, Santiago, Chile. He has 14 years of experience in sports & musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and post-surgery rehabilitation, specialising in hip, shoulder and knee injuries.

In his home country, he worked in Clínica Las Condes Sports Medicine Centre where he treated high-level and semi elite athletes, as well as enthusiastic sports people, developing rehabilitation and performance enhancement plans.

Luis also worked with professional football/soccer clubs in Chile performing pre-season strength, power and suppleness assessments.

He worked with the Olympic Committee of Chile towards Rio 2016, travelling with the medical team to international events such as the Olympic Games, Rio de Janiero 2016 (Brazil) and the Panamerican Games, Toronto 2015 (Canada). The sports which he worked with included shooting, athletics, squash and weightlifting.

In Australia, Luis has been working since 2019 in different private practices and in the last 2 years with Adelaide City F.C from the National Premier League (soccer). He has looked after mainly the Men-senior squad and has been part of the coaching team who has achieved the SANPL Major premiership 2021, SA FFA Cup Championship 2022, and the round of best 16 teams in the Australia Cup 2022.

Luis is also an accredited S&C coach with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association ASCA. With this skill set, Luis can assist his clients to come back to their previous activities or sports after having an injury, and to keep progressing towards physical performance enhancement.

Luis is passionate about fitness and well-being, and he is convinced that becoming stronger and fitter is an essential component to achieve a high level of general wellness.
