Andrew Darcey

Andrew is an experienced Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist, graduating from UniSA in 1999 and completing his Masters in Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2005. He is a Director of Leading Edge Physiotherapy and is passionate about creating a positive work environment to allow our team to help our clients achieve their goals.

Andrew has a special interest in treating rowers, having worked alongside the Australian Rowing Team since 2012, including working at multiple World Cup regattas and the 2017 and 2019 World Rowing Championships with the ART. He sees rowers of all persuasions in the clinic, from school-age beginners, through Olympic medallists to Masters rowers and can apply the learnings he has gained working at the “pointy-end” of the sport to help any rower improve their performance or manage injury.

Working in our Burnside Hospital and Western Hospital locations, Andrew is extremely experienced in rehabilitating patients following Orthopaedic surgery. He leverages his experience, intimate knowledge of Orthopaedic surgical techniques and the use of our AxIT technology to help guide patient back to full function post-surgery.

Andrew’s other main passion is working at the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club in the SANFL, where he has been Head Physiotherapist since 2007 and was awarded Life Membership of the club in 2021. Some of his career highlights include helping keep the team on the park helping the club achieve the 2011, 2020 and 2021 SANFL Premierships.

Outside of work, Andrew is married with two active boys which keeps him busy supervising and coaching sports on the weekends! He enjoys his lifelong sport of dinghy sailing and escaping for adventure holidays with his busy family.
